Konstruktion T. Eisenschmidt (short: KTE) was founded 27 years ago in Farnstädt as an independent engineering firm. Today, Farnstädt is no longer solely agricultural, but also characterized by skilled trades, metalworking, and electrical engineering companies. The town is peacefully located on the A38 motorway between Querfurt and Lutherstadt Eisleben in Saxony-Anhalt.

Our long-standing core businesses are high- and medium-voltage technology and the planning and implementation of projects in the field of renewable energies.

High voltage and medium voltage

Transforming multiphysics problems into functional designs is our profession. We develop them ourselves.

Development as a service means: concept development, 3D CAD design, calculation of all physical requirements, prototype construction, and testing of complete switchgear, switchgear, and high-voltage substations. We have the necessary development tools and extensive expertise for this. Furthermore, we provide you with our knowledge of the appropriate technology you need to manufacture the components. Since 2010, we have added specialized simulations and custom designs.

Each KTE development is unique and contains new ideas that you can use.

Expert opinions and advice

We provide independent, worldwide consulting and reliable expert opinions for the acceptance of substations or switchgear, in the event of faults, or during various measurements and tests. This applies to power quality, personal safety, and all other physical requirements related to high currents and voltages.

Renewable energy

Regardless of whether it is about the generation or storage of electrical energy: wind farms and the combination of storage technologies are our focus.

Wind energy

We have long been planning profitable wind farms in harmony with and in the interests of the local community. The best example is our first wind farm in Farnstädt with 22 wind turbines (6x NM82-1500 and 16x V90-2.0), which we developed and built between 2001 and 2005 together with the municipality, agricultural companies, and other, mostly regional, partners. Today, the region encompasses much more: securing land, public relations work with cities and municipalities, storage in the form of heat or electrical energy, grid connection planning for medium and high voltage, emergency services, technical operations management, expert opinions, and much more. Long-standing partnerships underscore our expertise.

With wind, we have clearly represented the Mansfeld-Südharz region and the Saalekreis district with "Energy from Home" for 20 years. Numerous local companies already support us. We create clear added value for regional partner companies, farmers, municipalities, and residents.

For example, although many people are still unaware, since 2022 we have been offering discounted electricity to residents living in the immediate vicinity of wind farms we are planning or in which we are involved as developers or operators. This is done either through special tariffs or through annual energy vouchers. The amount of the discount depends on demand and, of course, on the potential energy yield. This involves citizen surveys, a statistical survey, and a calculation of the financial leeway for the additional costs that we ourselves have to bear.

In addition, there are numerous compensatory measures that are agreed upon in advance with all parties involved. Voluntary payments to municipalities in accordance with Section 6 of the Renewable Energy Sources Act 2023 in the amount of 0.2 cents/kWh from wind generation or solar systems are a matter of course for us. These payments are tax-free. Join us in creating a livable foundation for the future of our children and grandchildren!

Storage technology

Back in 2001, a pumped-storage power plant (125 MW, 800 MWh) from the E-MQ initiative at the former Geiseltal open-cast lignite mine was supposed to store and regulate the energy fed into the grid from the Farnstädt wind farm and a then-large solar park. This was before the flooding of what is now Lake Geiseltal began. The project failed due to a lack of legislation. Even today, 20 years later, EU and federal policymakers have failed for decades to introduce important long-term regulations for storage power plants and decentralized energy storage systems to technologically promote not only generation, but above all, decentralized distribution and storage. Therefore, everyone now has a mammoth task to shoulder: providing safe and affordable energy for everyone. We're helping as best we can!

Hot water district heating systems developed in-house, powered by surplus wind power, and battery storage systems using the latest environmentally friendly battery technology are indispensable for decentralized storage. These technologies are safe, easy to control and highly effective.

Motivation

What drives me is our fantastic team of outstanding employees and our reliable, highly motivated partners. We are not just engineers and designers, but above all your partner, advisor, and problem solver. Open and honest communication and the ethical principles of the engineering profession guide our actions. Our specialist engineers and project managers provide you with competent and reliable support. We are happy to take on your "problem cases," regardless of whether it concerns wind, voltage, or current.

We are continuing to work on optimizing our German website. Our "English version" will be available here again shortly, as usual.

P.S. A small request: Please make an appointment with our contact persons before coming to our office. You are always welcome to have a water, tea, or coffee!
